Sad to hear that, a tough learning experience. I'd suggest if you could have a bilge alarm in your fish room, at ground level, as an early warning.... thanks for sharing the details..

Idea, maybe install some alarm sensors on the floor to detect water spills so things like this can be detected faster and dealt with before fish die.

I also had a bottom crack on my 20 gallon fish tank. It sounded like that but I didn't know what it was at first so I thought it was just something else soon after the water of the tank was shrinking and then I knew it was a sound of a crack. I got all of my fish and put a styro on the bottom of my tank. It was a lesson for me that also something like this can happend to me.

Many sympathies, but... the alarms! If alarms go off an no-one hears them, they're not alarms!

Maybe is not ideal to have a another tank like half the size of your tanks with running water maybe a betta in it just to have a emergency tank ready with water in it coz you can easily transfer the betta in a cup for a while on emergency purposes especially those fishes that are very expensive or irreplaceable and its very useful if you have someone in the house even without knowledge ofthe hobby about parameters he or she can just move the betta and pick the fishes up and put that down on emergency tank.

My 90 gallon split in the bottom seam I think. And after watching your video I found something on the stand I built . Not a rock though one of the middle 2×4 was sticking up like an 1/8 to almost 1/4" . I was luckily home when it started leaking and had the 125 set up ready to go

Hi Joey, Love what you do :) I noticed that the layer of foam beneath your tank looks quite thin. I think it would help a lot (and possibly prevent that explosion :( ) if you increase the thickness of that foam to at least 10mm. In Singapore, majority of the tanks, i see, have a styrofoam layer (at least 10mm) supporting the bottom of the tank. Hope this helps. Cheers!

I'm glad we can count on you to let us know if something happens, and be honest with us when it truly makes you question whether you should share it or not. That's why I'm subscribed. That honesty and transparency is what brought me to the channel. Keep sharing and don't ever feel obligated to share something that you truly don't want to share, and don't feel as though you can't share certain things that happen either. At the very least, we'll be here regardless of what you choose and we're glad the fish are safe and no one was injured. Thank you for talking about this experience!
